Modern View of Reports

In the current modern view of reports, performing basic and frequently used customizations — like displaying financial reports by month — requires multiple clicks. In contrast, this could previously be done with a single click in the classic view.

Hey folks - we are looking into the feature for being able to find things on reports easily with Cmd+F or Ctrl+F, something that used to work across all pages of reports in Classic but isn't present in modern view. Please share your feedback on it.

We are working on an update that doesn't require manually refreshing modern reports upon updating transactions. Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback.

On modern report financials customers see "fixed assets" "COGS" etc. accounts even when they might not be using these. Our goal is to show only active/relevant accounts in default view of modern reports.

Ability to schedule modern report groups

We have heard from customers that they want a page level scroll on Modern reports and would like the customization on panel to collapse as well as one scrolls through the report. We are working on this change and would love to hear folks' feedback/upvotes.

The accounts are not in the right order, they are supposed to follow the Trial Balance = Balance Sheet than P&L in the right order.

Hey Reports team. I'm in a CO id running the new QBO experience and interacting with the standard Balance Sheet report in modern view. I make a change to an account in another window. When in Classic view and I refresh the screen, the report format stays the same. When I do the same thing with Modern view it resets back to the default setting which is Report Period Custom dates, current year through today. To change to Jan - May, I no longer have the option change this with two clicks, meaning select the calendar icon on the To box and select the last day of the prior month. I only have the option to select a day within the current month. My option is to change the report period. This year to last month, a very common report period is in the middle of the list. I type last and get Last week. I type yea and get Yesterday, I type mon and the report dates don't change so each time I need to refresh the report, I need to scroll down to change my report period. What would it take to mirror the functionality between classic and modern view? Thank you.

Note: this is based on a 'standard report' P&L navigation... Report only scroll (vs full window scroll) design more difficult to navigate 'Display columns by...' - a key option that most accountants use that now is 3 clicks + typing away. Difficult UI to navigate to get to a simple P&L by month view. Report column sizing now compressed with 'display by' banner taking up real estate on east side. 'Save before exiting'? Rarely, or else I would have already saved it. Oftentimes, accountants have a habit of running quick reports, updating view parameters, and want to get out. Not always a report that they want to save or re-run (makes sense to save those for custom). The pop-up window every single time is a bit obtrusive. I'm saying the level of impact is minor, but it drives me crazy.
